The KMS 6th grade orchestra and 7th/8th grade orchestra both placed first in their class A category at the Music in the Parks Festival that took place at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio over the weekend!

Orchestra students and parents: our final concert on May 17th will begin at 8:00pm instead of 7:00pm. Please put this change in your calendar. Thanks!

 We will have our Orchestra Holiday Party the next day that we return to school...hopefully Wednesday! Plan to bring goodies to share and stay safe and warm until then!  :) 

Parents/Guardians of orchestra students,

Please be aware that we are working on check-offs in class as a large portion of your child's grade in orchestra. Each Friday students have a chance to play at least 1 excerpt from the list. I either rate them as: (1) Excellent - 100% (2) Passing - 85% or (3) Redo - 0%. Redo's must be played again in order to receive a grade. The grades for check-offs will not be entered into the system until the end of the nine weeks. 

Ask your child to see their check-off sheet and see what they have done/what they still have to do. If your child has several redo's or they have only been graded on 1 or 2 excerpts they may need to see me and play for me after school to catch up. I am in my office on Mondays and Fridays until 4:15. This would be an excellent time for them to come play for me. 

Our October KMS orchestra concert has been moved to Tuesday the 19th (it was previously scheduled for the 12th). Please mark this change on your calendars. 

Students should have brought home information regarding our concerts for this school year. If the information did not make it home, please refer to the last page of the handbook that is now available to you on this webpage. We look forward to presenting some great concerts this year!!!
